Dr. Charles West
DVM/Owner
Dr. Charles West grew up in a rural setting surrounded by large animals, where his early exposure to animal care shaped a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. As soon as he was old enough, he began volunteering at veterinary clinics, already certain of the career path he wanted to pursue.
He graduated in 1981 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and went on to specialize in embryo transfer and fertility in farm animals. Over the next 25 years, Dr. West built extensive expertise in reproductive medicine, working both locally and internationally. His career took him abroad, including time in Europe, where he worked on advanced reproductive work such as elk semen transfer to be sent to Australia and New Zealand.
In 2005, Dr. West became the owner of what was then known as The Spay Clinic. Driven by a commitment to accessible veterinary care, he expanded the practice and, in 2012, converted it into a full-service veterinary clinic. His core mission has always been to provide high-quality, affordable veterinary services, a value he continues to uphold with pride today.
Dr. Hadi El-Farou
DVM
Dr. Hadi El-Farou grew up on a large family farm in Lebanon, where his early exposure to animal care sparked a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine diploma with a focus on small animal medicine and further expanded his clinical experience through additional training and externships in Pittsburgh, New Hampshire, and Boston in the United States.
After relocating to Canada, Dr. El Farou has continued to bring strong motivation, discipline, and enthusiasm to small animal veterinary practice. His professional interests include internal medicine, emergency care, and surgical procedures. Outside of the clinic, he maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys running, hiking, and swimming.
Evelyn Navarro
Practice Manager
Evelyn Navarro was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From a young age, she had a deep love for animals and was always caring for her family pets. This passion led her to dream of becoming a veterinarian, a goal that grew stronger after she began volunteering—and later working—at a veterinary clinic at 18 years old.
Evelyn went on to pursue studies as a Registered Veterinary Technologist before relocating to Edmonton, where her career path evolved. She ultimately chose not to continue RVT schooling and found her calling as the Practice Manager at The Original Spay Clinic, a role in which she feels both fulfilled and at home.
Outside of work, Evelyn enjoys working out, cooking, and traveling. She is a proud pet parent to three furry pups of her own and is always excited to meet and care for every “fur baby” that walks through the clinic doors
Bippy
Furry Practice Manager
Dr. West has a very fluffy son who has been by his side since he was just a baby. As an important part of the clinic management team, he takes his role in staff wellness very seriously—enforcing mandatory stress-relief breaks by lying on keyboards mid-typing or demanding cuddles and pets at the most critical moments. His compensation package is simple but effective: a portion of the staff’s lunch and an endless supply of chin scratches.
